Andrew Furlong, RIP

It is with great sadness that we had to say our final goodbyes to Andrew in January this year. Andrew joined our group in 2005 and since then had been a dedicated member. He was always the person who remembered when and where we were meeting and who was the next facilitator. He was also treasurer for the group for many years.

His writing spanned many forms including a novel set in Zimbabwe (where he lived for many years), philosophical essays and lots of short pieces of fiction. Andrew showed great bravery and commitment to the group in recent years by always attending on zoom during the pandemic or in person when restrictions were lifted, despite his debilitating and progressive illness. We will miss his kindness, efficiency and sense of humour and our group feels less without him. May he rest in peace.
